Commercial EPCs

Fish and Chips Commercial Property in Ipswich Diss Businesses Commercial Property in Norwich

Why do you need one?

The European Union has made it compulsory for all ‘conditioned’ commercial premises to have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) when they are advertised for lease or sale, constructed or modified, with few exceptions. A conditioned building is one which uses energy to condition the indoor climate and includes buildings where it is normally expected to have a heating system. For a more detailed explanation of the legislation covering Commercial EPCs, please see Improving the energy efficiency of our buildings.

How are they created?

Following a detailed survey, a property is given an Energy Rating between A and G, based on C02 emissions. The Certificate is accompanied by a Recommendations Report which highlights effective measures to improve the energy efficiency, thus reducing running costs and cutting the C02 emissions. The reports are produced using an approved energy rating software program and are valid for 10 years.

EPCs must be produced by qualified, accredited energy assessors. .

Our Service

We can either give an instant quote over the phone or within hours, depending on the nature of the property. On receiving your instruction we will:

  • inform you how long the survey is likely to take
  • agree a time to carry out the survey at your discretion, normally within a few days
  • inform you when you will receive the completed reports, normally 24 - 48 hours, depending upon the complexity of the building

The survey is non-invasive and normal business activities are not disrupted.

Once we have calculated your property's energy performance, the presentation of your Energy Performance Certificate will be immediate.

We provide a professional, cost effective service with a personal touch, assisting commercial property owners to comply with this new legislation, thus avoiding financial penalties. Based near Diss, we are convenient to Norwich, Ipswich, Bury St. Edmunds and all of East Anglia.
